There is a website called Cell Science that lists all of the diabetes charities and support throughout the world. First it has a list of all of the charities that are International. It has stars next to each charity. I am guessing that the more stars, the better. The only one that I have heard of is TuDiabetes. They say that this site has outstanding design. The next list is a list of Community sites that can lead you to find some support or help for diabetes. There are multiple that I have heard of and many that seem really sketchy.
Then they have a list of all of the charities from Africa to the United Kingdom, not including the United States. The countries that have the most are the United Kingdom and Australia with 12. The next most are Canada and Germany. What is interesting is that neither China nor India have any websites whatsoever and they are the world’s leaders in persons with diabetes. You would think that they would support all of those people, but who knows what their health care plans are like, so maybe they don’t need them.
Next, there is a list of all of the National, individual State charities and some regional charities in the United States. There is no charity or organization that receives over 3 stars, so that must mean that they are all pretty even as far as how effective they are.
So, next time you are doing a charity drive or something, take into consideration all of the charities that are available to donate to. The website is http://cellscience.com/DIACharities.html
